Duopharma Biotech Expands Vaccine Portfolio With Enimmune

The partnership establishes a pathway to introduce niche vaccines in Malaysia and provides a foundation for collaboration on future vaccine pipeline opportunities.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — Duopharma Biotech Berhad has signed a five-year exclusive agreement with Taiwan-based Enimmune Corporation for the distribution and sale of vaccines in Malaysia.

The partnership supports Duopharma Biotech’s biologics strategy to diversify its portfolio into specialty and higher-value health care segments, strengthen its capabilities through strategic partnerships, and meet evolving health care needs.

It also establishes a pathway to introduce niche vaccines in Malaysia and provides a foundation for collaboration on future vaccine pipeline opportunities.

“This partnership is a further step in strengthening our vaccine portfolio and building a sustainable presence in preventive health care. Our focus is on bringing niche vaccines to Malaysia that address unmet needs and complement the health care options available today,” said Duopharma Biotech Group Chief Executive Officer Wan Amir-Jeffery Wan Abdul Majid.

“Beyond the initial distribution portfolio, we see opportunities to work with Enimmune on its future vaccine pipeline and draw on its vaccine expertise, technical support and facilities.

“This will support our efforts to progressively build capabilities and broaden our vaccine offerings. Over time, we also see potential to explore local manufacturing, subject to sufficient demand and commercial viability.

“Our ambition is to expand access to vaccines while contributing to Malaysia’s longer-term health care resilience.”

Enimmune is a subsidiary of Adimmune Corporation, a Taiwanese vaccine manufacturer with more than six decades of experience, and specialises in the development of vaccines and rapid diagnostics for infectious diseases.

Its portfolio includes its proprietary EnVAX-A71 Enterovirus 71 (EV71) Vaccine, alongside Adimmune’s Adim-S Influenza Vaccine and Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine.

Facilitated by the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Promotion Office (BPIPO) under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, the partnership will focus on vaccine distribution and commercialisation in Malaysia.

It aims to serve opportunities across the public and private health care sectors, subject to applicable regulatory approvals and procurement requirements, while laying the groundwork for broader collaboration between the two companies.
