Ex-UMMC Radiographer Plans To Sue, Seeks Other Staff With Cancer, Thyroid Problems

Former UMMC radiographer Fauzia plans to sue the hospital over alleged radiation safety breaches after failed engagement efforts. Her lawyers are seeking other workers with similar cancer problems and want UMMC to disclose radiation equipment procurement.

Ex-UMMC Radiographer To File Negligence Suit Over Alleged Radiation Exposure

A former UMMC radiographer who developed stage 4 lymphoma plans to sue for negligence, alleging SOP breaches. So far, she is the sole claimant from the so-called cancer "cluster" in her proposed suit. She was deemed unfit last year to continue working.

Mosti says a probe by MOH's medical radiation regulatory division didn't find radiation safety breaches that could be linked to an alleged cancer cluster at UMMC. The regulator of radiation for medical purposes is the Health DG.
