Ampang Hospital’s Flooded Operating Theatre Resuming Operations Tomorrow

When it rains, it pours — literally in the case of Ampang Hospital with a flooded OT, while its IT system has been down for nearly a week. The OT will resume operations tomorrow as the problem has been fixed. But the eHIS system is still being worked on.

Ampang Hospital’s IT System Down For 33 Hours In First Huge Outage

The eHIS system at Ampang Hospital, once a model IT hospital, was down for 33 hours in its first massive outage. The IT system, not upgraded since 2007, previously faced frequent failures last year. Ampang Hospital computers run on Windows XP and use IE.

JKNS: 95% Of Ampang Hospital’s Permanent Medical Officer Positions Filled

The Selangor state health department says 20 medical officers from various departments at Ampang Hospital quit since Jan 2024, adding that over 95% of permanent medical officer positions at the tertiary hospital are filled. There are also 80 contract MOs.

Over 1,000 medical officers in the Klang Valley are involved in relocations by end July. HKL is losing net 200 doctors; other public tertiary hospitals losing over 100 MOs: Selayang Hospital (120), Serdang Hospital (106), and Sungai Buloh Hospital (104).
