The excursion aims to create lasting memories while raising awareness about MND and advocating for accessibility for the disabled in tourism.

An 82-year-old philanthropist, who wished to remain anonymous, donated RM100,000 to MND Malaysia before he died in 2023. The donation will be used to provide medical devices and caregiver services, among others, for people with motor neuron disease (MND).

At the Ice Bucket Challenge event, PJ MP Lee Chean Chung announced an RM5,000 donation to MND Malaysia to support MND (motor neurone disease) patients and improving treatment infrastructure at UMMC. Malaysia sees 1,000 new MND cases yearly.

A decade since the last Ice Bucket Challenge, MND Malaysia has announced the return of the event.
