HTAR Klang's general surgery department, with just 20 MOs serving 300-400 patients daily (inpatients/outpatients/ED), is on the verge of collapse, say surgical MOs. "Surgical services in HTAR are now operating beyond safe human and operational limits."

An MO raises dire shortages of HOs and MOs at HTAR Klang's medical department with only 15 HOs and 40 MOs (available as active working manpower). An MO manages 30-35 patients concurrently in wards, 6-7 active on-calls a month, without HO support overnight.

Green Zone (non-critical) emergency cases at HTAR Klang consistently dropped from Feb-April this year, alongside a consistent rise in Yellow Zone (semi-critical) cases; Red Zone (critical) outpatient arrivals fluctuated. The STAR project began March 25.
