Hartal, Government Doctors Back NHF With Payroll Deductions For Public Health Care

Hartal Doktor Kontrak says the proposed National Health Fund (NHF) with employer-employee contributions should be used for fair remuneration of health workers, besides expanding public health care facilities/services. Other govt doctors support NHF too.

Hartal: RM25,000 For MPs, RM25 Hourly On-Call Allowance For Doctors

Hartal Doktor Kontrak has launched an online petition urging the government to raise doctors' on-call allowance to RM25/hour in Budget 2026, noting that MPs make RM25,000 a month. "RM25,000 for MPs. RM25/hour for doctors. Fairness is not too much to ask."

HDK met with Anwar Ibrahim's pol-sec to raise issues like medical officers' ePlacements and on-call allowance, and the 45-hour work week for nurses and MAs. HDK was told at another meeting with Dr Dzul's aide that MOH won't reinstate Feb 27 ePlacements.

Hartal Doktor Kontrak says it doesn't plan to organise a doctors' strike "for now", since the health minister has promised an on-call allowance raise in Budget 2025. The government has also given 15% salary hikes to most civil servants, including doctors.
