MELAKA, Oct 22 — Mahkota Specialist Hospital, formerly known as Mahkota Medical Centre, has unveiled its refreshed name and brand identity featuring the HMI Spark, aligning the hospital with HMI Medical’s wider health care network across Singapore and Malaysia.
The refreshed identity reinforces Mahkota’s connection to HMI Medical while building on more than three decades of health care heritage and its established reputation for quality care among local and international patients.
The adoption of the HMI Spark marks the next step in connecting HMI Medical’s health care brands across the region as cross-border health care demand grows.
For patients and partners, the shared identity provides a more recognisable link between Mahkota and the Group’s integrated health care network, reflecting a common commitment to quality and care.
The HMI Spark represents HMI Medical’s ambition to deliver More with Care by bringing together four essential elements of total care: physical, mental, social, and personalised.
These reflect the Group’s commitment to caring for people’s physical health, understanding their mental and emotional needs, personalising care to each individual, and connecting with the communities in which they live.
Formed by four converging “more-than” chevrons, the Spark symbolises HMI Medical’s ambition to continually find better ways to care for patients. This ambition is brought to life through four priorities:
- More expertise: Strengthening clinical capabilities, specialist knowledge, and medical technology to deliver high-quality, personalised care.
- More ways to care: Expanding services, specialties, and care settings to address a wider range of health care needs, from prevention to treatment and recovery.
- More connected experiences: Connecting expertise, services and care settings to create a more coordinated health care journey that is easier for patients to navigate.
- More trusted care within reach: Making quality health care more accessible and affordable, giving individuals and families greater confidence in their care choices.
Teo Chin Yee, CEO of Mahkota Specialist Hospital, said the refreshed brand identity comes as Mahkota enters its next phase of growth, with the development of a new hospital block to expand capacity and strengthen its specialist and tertiary care capabilities.
It also reflects an ambition to build a more connected health care ecosystem as cross-border medical travel grows across the region, particularly between Malaysia and Indonesia.
“the HMI Spark represents our commitment to continually improve how we care for our patients. As we invest in Mahkota Specialist Hospital’s next phase of growth, we are expanding not only our capacity, but also our clinical capabilities, technology, and the overall patient experience.
“Being part of HMI Medical’s shared identity reinforces Mahkota’s place within a trusted regional health care network, enabling us to build on our strong foundations while connecting patients to greater expertise and more seamless care.
“Together, it reflects our ambition to work as one Group to spark positive change and shape the future of health care for the communities we serve in Melaka and the region,” she said.
The hospital’s refreshed name, Mahkota Specialist Hospital, reflects its evolution over more than three decades into a comprehensive tertiary specialist hospital, with a broad range of specialist and subspecialist expertise, multidisciplinary care and advanced medical technology.
Mahkota has been continuously expanding its infrastructure and clinical capabilities to meet the health care needs of patients in Malaysia and the wider region.
A new hospital block is under development and is expected to make Mahkota the largest private hospital in Melaka by 2029, with capacity of up to 430 beds.
As Mahkota expands its health care facilities, clinical services and technological capabilities, its people remain at the heart of health care.
HMI Medical is investing RM50 million over five years through the HMI Malaysia health care Workforce 2030 Fund to support scholarships, education sponsorships and clinical attachments.
The investment aims to equip health care professionals with the skills and experience to deliver quality care and meet the evolving needs of patients in Malaysia and across the region.
