Hospital Picaso Hosts Milestone Event In Robotic And Minimally Invasive Surgery

By driving international collaboration, continuous professional development, and patient-centred innovation, Hospital Picaso is committed to raising the standard of care across Asia.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 — Hospital Picaso successfully hosted its second Picaso Robotic & MIS Exchange 2025 (Promise), a three-day international conference that gathered over 100 participants daily.

The event brought together leading surgeons from Malaysia and across the globe to perform live surgeries, delivery didactic lectures, and lead interactive panel forums, further strengthening Hospital Picaso’s promise to strengthen Malaysia’s role in advancing robotic and minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

The comprehensive scientific programme featured live demonstrations of robotic-assisted anterior resections, hernia repair, prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, hysterectomy, and endometriosis surgery, showcasing the breadth of applications across urology, general surgery, gynaecology, and colorectal surgery.

Renowned surgeons and surgical teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, China, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States led the sessions, highlighting cutting-edge practices and innovations in robotic surgery. In addition to surgical demonstrations, delegates engaged in high-level discussions on quality, safety, and credentialing in robotic surgery.

“Minimally invasive and robotic surgery are being progressively adopted worldwide due to the excellent perioperative outcome resulted fast recovery for patients. At Hospital Picaso, our mission extends beyond introducing technology, we are committed to ensuring that every innovation translates into safer, more effective, and more compassionate care,” said Dr Fam Xeng Inn, organising chairman and consultant urologist at Hospital Picaso.

Scientific chairman and consultant urologist Dr Loh Chit Sin added: “’Promise’ is a unique platform for surgeons to learn from one another, refine their techniques, and embrace the evolving art of surgery.

“By working closely with distinguished faculty from around the world, we are not only advancing surgical knowledge but also ensuring that these collective insights are translated into safer procedures and better care for our patients.”

Looking forward, Hospital Picaso aims to strengthen its role as a regional training hub for robotic and minimally invasive surgery.

By driving international collaboration, continuous professional development, and patient-centred innovation, the hospital is committed to raising the standard of care across Asia.

The success of Promise 2025 established the meeting as a premier platform for robotic and MIS surgeons to connect, collaborate, and advance the field together.
