KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 11 – In recent years, many government health care workers have resigned and left their posts due to stressful and non-stop work, all while dealing with chronic staffing and funding shortages.
CodeBlue‘s report titled “Critically Ill Patients Stranded Six Days In Ipoh GH’s Emergency Department” published on December 12, 2022, sparked much debate about the public health care system in Malaysia, particularly among health health care professionals, on the issue of medical brain drain, excessive workload, and low salaries.
This survey aims to briefly gauge the opinion of government health care professionals or workers on Malaysia’s public health care system.
Among the questions in CodeBlue’s online survey are what issues you’re facing at work, if you’re thinking of quitting your job in the public health care sector, and whether you believe the public health care system is currently in crisis.
Only those who are currently working in the public health care sector in Malaysia – including staff in university hospitals – are invited to participate in the survey. Questions are in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
