KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 – Pantai Hospital Cheras has launched a Health Screening Centre, designed to promote early detection of medical problems through comprehensive tests and procedures.
This is in line with Pantai Hospital’s commitment to improve the quality of care for its patients.
According to Pantai Hospital Chief Executive Officer Rachel Yew, the opening of the Health Screening Centre is timely, with more non-communicable cases (NCDs) detected every day.
As reported in the 2019 National Health and Morbidity Survey, NCDs made up 67 per cent of premature deaths in Malaysia.
NCDs such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular complications, and others have overtaken infectious diseases as the leading cause of death in Malaysia.
“It is important for everyone to be aware of our health status. Health screening helps us find out if we have any underlying disease or condition or if we are at a high risk,” said Yew at the launch of the Health Screening Centre in Cheras here last May 26.
“It is an effective way to detect a particular condition or disease early, even when there have not been any signs or symptoms of that disease. Early detection means getting the right treatment at the right time, which gives us better control over our health.”
“Our Health Screening Centre offers comprehensive screening services and is managed by experienced and dedicated medical team and nurses. Strategically located at the ground floor and within close vicinity of the imaging department, it provides a seamless journey for our patients,” she added.
The Centre is well equipped with the latest screening machines and equipment, and packages include chest X-rays, imaging tests, basic lung and audiometry assessments, electrocardiograms (ECHO), and stress tests, as well as screenings for non-communicable diseases.
“With the opening of our Health Screening Centre, health checkups are now made more accessible and convenient, especially for the Cheras community.” added Yew.
In conjunction with the launch, and to further enhance awareness of the importance of health screenings, Pantai Hospital Cheras is offering a 28 per cent + 10 per cent discount for selected Health Screening and Heart Screening Packages.
Officiating at the launch of the Pantai Hospital Cheras Health Screening Centre was Tan Kok Wai, Member of Parliament for Cheras.
