MySJ Trace Identifies Over 124,600 Contacts From Covid-Positive Users

A total of 5.97 million MySejahtera users have activated the MySJ Trace function.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 – The MySJ Trace function on the MySejahtera app has identified 124,643 close or casual contacts of Covid-19 cases, as of February 15.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin told Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii, in a written parliamentary reply last Tuesday, that the contacts were linked to 11,212 Covid-positive users who had uploaded their interaction gathered over 14 days.

Khairy said 5,971,117 people currently use the MySJ Trace function that enables health authorities to know who was in close proximity, via Bluetooth, with a person who later tests positive for Covid-19.

Casual contacts flagged by MySJ Trace will be asked to monitor their symptoms and to self-test for the virus; they do not need to immediately self-isolate.

“The Ministry of Health (MOH) is constantly evaluating the effectiveness and improving the MySejahtera application, including MySJ Trace,” Khairy said.
