MMC Achieves First Online Licence Application For Doctors

The online application is currently only available at MMC’s office.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 — The Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) today marked a milestone by enabling doctors to apply for their annual practicing certificate (APC) online.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said currently, the online application is only available at MMC’s office here as the council, which regulates the practice of medicine in Malaysia, is doing a test run to iron out troubleshooting before going live nationwide.

“Finally we have our first successful APC applicant online today, Dr Harafinova Harman Shah from Terengganu.

“I would like to congratulate the committee and team for their efforts to enhance the process of applying APC online,” Dr Noor Hisham, who is also MMC president, said in a statement.

The MMC said last June that its medical practitioner database management system had crashed towards the end of 2018, preventing doctors from renewing their APC online.
