Base MHIT Copayments, Deductibles Aren’t High: Amir Hamzah

Amir Hamzah says copayments/deductibles in the Base MHIT Plan aren't "high" and policyholders are responsible for controlling health care costs. Base MHIT has RM500/RM1k deductible in its Standard Plan, and RM10k-RM15k deductible in its Standard-Plus Plan.

A 65-year-old retiree complains about a 275% hike for his medical insurance premium from RM540 to RM2,030 monthly. Another 65-year-old woman faces a 72% jump in her annual medical insurance premium from RM7,795 to RM13,407. Both urge for BNM intervention.
