Over A Third Of Malaysian Heart Attack Fatalities Aged Below 60

Ischemic heart disease (heart attack) led to 20,322 deaths in 2022 in Malaysia, accounting for 16.1% of total medically confirmed deaths. About 65% of heart attack fatalities were in senior citizens aged 60 and above, while 35% occurred in those below 60.

Patient Dies From Heart Attack In Sungai Petani Hospital Despite ECG Test

Ex-city councillor David Marshel says a 51-year-old man died from a heart attack in Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani, Kedah, claiming the hospital gave the patient gastric meds despite conducting an ECG test. The patient died 6 hours later.

MOH Doesn’t Confirm If Serdang Hospital Heart Attack Patient Waited 30 Hours For Admission Before Dying

The Selangor state health department simply says that a 64-year-old heart attack patient in Serdang Hospital, who later died, was placed in ED under monitoring by the cardiology department until ward admission after a bed vacancy, but did not confirm if he had waited 30 hours.
