Private hospitals in Malaysia operate on "razor-thin" 10%-15% profit margins, says APHM's Factbook 2024. Average profit before tax is 38%. Average inpatient bill rose 4% annually, lower than 12% medical inflation. Drugs form the biggest portion of profits.
