MOH Confirms Nicotine Manufacturing Licence For US-Based Vape Company

MOH's disease control division confirms that an e-cigarette company received an interim nicotine vape manufacturing licence from MIDA. MOH says it's responsible under Act 852 for regulating the import, manufacture, distribution and content of e-cigarettes.

Pressure Mounts On MOH For Federal Vape Ban

Medical groups are pressuring MOH to impose a federal ban on vape sales. The Malaysian Thoracic Society and Lung Foundation Malaysia say Act 852 empowers the health minister to gazette an order prohibiting vape if there is an "acute or critical situation".

The new Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill 2023 tabled for first reading in Parliament today not only omits the GEG ban, but shockingly also does not regulate e-cigarette or vape devices. The term "smoking device" is absent from the bill.
