The parliamentary select committee on health, science and innovation wants an inquiry to investigate Malaysia's Covid-19 response in the past one year.
The government has imposed a price cap that private hospitals can charge over each type of health condition for treating a patient referred from a public hospital.
Non-Covid patients may end up in the Covid-19 high risk group if their medical condition is not kept under control, says the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia.
Housemen in their fifth and sixth posting will be allowed to manage all Covid-19 patients, from stage one to five of disease, and are eligible for the special Covid-19 allowance.
The opposition leader also urged the government to focus solely on addressing issues of Covid-19 management, such as manpower shortage in the public health care system.
