Doctors’ On-Call Allowance Raise A ‘Pilot Project’: Minister

Health Minister Dr Dzul clarifies that the "targeted" on-call allowance raise of RM55-RM65 per shift for medical and dental officers is a "pilot project" of at least three months that will be launched in certain departments and select hospitals or clinics.

On-Call Allowance For Doctors, Dentists Raised By RM55 To RM65: Budget 2025

The on-call allowance for medical and dental officers will be raised by between RM55 and RM65 in Budget 2025, subject to certain fields of service and departments. An RM55-RM65 increase translates to payment of RM11.50-RM11.90 per hour for a 24-hour shift.

PM Anwar Ibrahim says existing patients at IJN, especially those aged 65 years and older, will be allowed to continue their treatment there. Government pensioners previously complained about being discharged from IJN and referred to government hospitals.
