KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 — Hanifah Hajar Taib has been appointed the new deputy health minister in a major Cabinet reshuffle, replacing Lukanisman Awang Sauni who was made deputy foreign minister.
Hanifah, who is Mukah MP from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), was previously deputy economy minister.
Dzulkefly Ahmad remained as health minister.
DAP’s Liew Chin Tong replaced Lim Hui Ying as deputy finance minister, with the latter moved to the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry as deputy minister.
According to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement of the Cabinet reshuffle today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) also saw changes, with DAP’s Chan Foong Hin appointed deputy KPKM minister.
Mohamad Sabu remained as Agriculture and Food Security Minister. His former deputy, Arthur Joseph Kurup, was promoted to natural resources and environmental sustainability minister.
