Event Goals
This time, NBD aims to attract around 2,310 donors nationwide, a significant increase from previous years.
This ambitious target underscores the urgent need for blood in Malaysian hospitals, where supplies often fall short of the required levels.
By rallying support from all corners of the country, NBD hopes to alleviate this persistent issue.
Why It Matters
Malaysia’s health care system continually faces challenges in maintaining adequate blood supplies. Hospitals require around 2,000 units of blood daily to meet patient needs, yet donations often lag behind this demand.
Blood is crucial for surgeries, childbirth complications, cancer treatments, and emergencies. By donating, we can directly impact lives, giving patients and their families a renewed sense of hope.
Beyond Blood Donation
NBD actively promotes organ donation as a crucial aspect of its campaign.
With over 2,600 pledged donors already registered, the initiative seeks to inspire more individuals to make this significant commitment.
Pledging to become an organ donor is a profound commitment to humanity and a legacy of kindness.
About National Blood Donation (NBD)
National Blood Donation (NBD), a campaign established in 1997, is dedicated to addressing the issue of inadequate blood supplies at hospitals across Malaysia.
For over 27 years, NBD has organised large-scale blood donation campaigns to address the persistent challenge of inadequate blood supplies across Malaysia.
Our mission is to promote awareness of the importance of blood and organ donation, particularly among younger demographics, while providing practical exposure to event management for students.
This year’s theme, “A Drop of Kindness, A Spark of Hope,” reflects the spirit of the initiative—encouraging people to contribute in small yet meaningful ways that can ignite hope for many.
