Thank You, HRPB Ipoh, JKN Perak, And CodeBlue — S. Kunasegaran

A heart patient, who was “prematurely” discharged from IJN on July 2, thanks HRPB, JKN Perak, and CodeBlue for his expedited PCI procedure at HRPB on Aug 28. The long-time IJN past patient feels “much more comfortable and confident” with HRPB cardio team.

I am taking this opportunity to express my sincere thankful gratitude to CodeBlue for highlighting my predicament of a heart ailment.

In my July 31 letter, I wrote about how I was prematurely discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) last July 2 under the Ministry of Health’s cost-cutting measures.

I was given a September 25 appointment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh, Perak, even though I urgently needed a stent.

Since IJN discharged me as a patient, I was in a dilemma about my onset of chest pains and difficulties.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to Perak state health department (JKN) director Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha, who was kind enough – upon reading my letter on CodeBlue – to respond quickly by coordinating a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for me on August 28 at HRPB’s interventional cardiac lab (ICL).

The procedure was a success.

I would like to highlight my appreciation and gratitude to Dr Nor Hanim Mohd Amin, head of the cardiology department, for facilitating the whole process, as well as members of the cardiology team who treated me for their professional competence:

  • Consultants: Dr Kwan Yew Fung and Dr Ramachandran Sathappan (both on ICL duty).
  • Cardiology fellows: Dr Zarrin Kang and Dr Yee Shen Yew (both on ICL duty), as well as Dr Chen Tai Meng who first saw me.

I can say very confidently that – as a past patient of IJN for more than 20 years, who has gone through many procedures at IJN – I feel much more comfortable and confident now with the HRPB cardiology team.

A big thanks of appreciation to everyone who, in one way or another, made my PCI procedure a success.

Syabas, HRPB cardio team, JKN Perak director, and last but not least, CodeBlue!
