Upcoming: The Great Parallel Pathway Debate By CodeBlue

CodeBlue is organising “The Great Parallel Pathway Debate” on May 25 at AIAC in KL. Tickets to the debate event are open for sale now.

CodeBlue is organising an open debate on May 25, 2024, titled “The Great Parallel Pathway Debate”, ahead of the government’s plans to table amendments to the Medical Act in the upcoming parliamentary meeting that begins late June.

This debate is intended to foster an open and intellectual discussion on medical specialty training in Malaysia, as stakeholders in the medical profession should themselves have an opportunity to publicly debate the issue, instead of relegating it merely to Members of Parliament.

The debate motion is: “This House believes that the Medical Act should be amended to recognise the parallel pathway”.

The debate Chair is Galen Centre for Health and Social Policy chief executive Azrul Mohd Khalib.

The debate event will be held on May 25 (Saturday) from 2.30 to 4pm at the Asian International Arbitration Centre, Bangunan Sulaiman, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin in Kuala Lumpur.

This debate is a ticketed event; tickets are sold at RM25 and are non-refundable. Seats are limited.

All are welcome to purchase tickets to attend the debate event in person. Click the Eventbrite page here to buy tickets.

The debate – which will be open to media coverage – will also be live-streamed on CodeBlue’s Facebook page. However, only those who purchased tickets to attend the debate event in person will get an opportunity to ask the speakers questions.
