WHO Reports Over 230,000 Covid-19 Cases In Single Day

The biggest increases came from the US, Brazil, India, and South Africa.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 — The World Health Organization (WHO) reported a record rise in Covid-19 cases globally yesterday at 230,370 new infections in 24 hours.

The Guardian reported that the previous WHO record for new coronavirus cases was 228,102 on July 10.

The biggest increases yesterday came from the United States, Brazil, India, and South Africa.

Global deaths from the coronavirus, according to the Guardian, remained at an average of 5,000 daily.

Coronavirus cases around the world have reached nearly 13 million, as the Johns Hopkins University tracker noted a confirmed 12,826,729 confirmed cases.

Over half a million people have died from the viral disease in seven months.

WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned countries Thursday that the Covid-19 pandemic was accelerating worldwide, noting that the number of cases has doubled in the last six weeks.
