Sarawak Reports Three New Covid-19 Cases

SOP for hair salons and beauty salons are available for download from the Sarawak government’s website.

KUCHING, June 16 — Sarawak reported today three new Covid-19 cases, all in Bintulu, who were family members of the state’s Patient 557 identified through screening and contact tracing.

The three new Covid-19 cases brings the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Sarawak to 560 cases as of today.

No new discharged cases were reported today, which means that the total number of discharged Covid-19 cases remain at 534, or at a 95.36 per cent recovery rate.

A total of nine individuals positive for Covid-19 are being treated in isolated wards in the hospital as of today. The total Covid-19 death toll in the state remains at 17.

As many as 195 Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) have been reported as of today and 14 of those are still pending Covid-19 test results.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (DSMC) today also reported that the committee has received the latest standard operating procedures (SOP) provided by the Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sarawak for hairdressers, hair salons and beauty salons.

The above-mentioned SOP will be effective as of June 17 and can be downloaded from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sarawak website.
