No New Locally Transmitted Covid-19 Cases Among Malaysians

Malaysia records the highest number of discharged Covid-19 patients today at 281.

PUTRAJAYA, June 9 — The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported seven new Covid-19 cases today, comprising six imported cases among Malaysians and one local transmission involving a foreign worker.

The total number of Covid-19 infections in Malaysia is now 8,336.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 281 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 6,975.

This was the highest number of discharged cases since the outbreak began in Malaysia. A total of 1,244 patients are still receiving treatment at hospitals, while six are in the intensive care unit and one under ventilator support.

No Covid-19 fatality was recorded today, with the death toll remaining at 117.
