MOH and the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) jointly state that decisions in “all” health and religious issues must take into account scientific data and religious opinion.
The government considers all infectious diseases beyond Covid-19 to be an issue of national security; notifiable diseases under Act 342 include food poisoning, dengue, measles, gonorrhea, HIV etc.
The Bill imposes a maximum RM10,000 compound for individuals and RM1 million for corporate bodies; it’s unclear if medical practitioners will be compounded as individuals or if the compound is imposed on the facility they work at.
