Hartal Doktor Kontrak says the government shouldn't be talking about salary cuts for civil servants, even as an “absolute last resort”, that would end up demoralising the public service. "We trust that PMX won't resort to victimising health care workers."

Hartal: RM25,000 For MPs, RM25 Hourly On-Call Allowance For Doctors

Hartal Doktor Kontrak has launched an online petition urging the government to raise doctors' on-call allowance to RM25/hour in Budget 2026, noting that MPs make RM25,000 a month. "RM25,000 for MPs. RM25/hour for doctors. Fairness is not too much to ask."

Hartal Doktor Kontrak says it doesn't plan to organise a doctors' strike "for now", since the health minister has promised an on-call allowance raise in Budget 2025. The government has also given 15% salary hikes to most civil servants, including doctors.
