Universiti Malaya To Offer Cardiothoracic Postgrad Programme In October: Zambry

Zambry Kadir says Universiti Malaya will offer a cardiothoracic surgery postgrad program in October, as an alternative "pathway" to UiTM. UM's cardiothoracic surgery division has 1 assoc professor who's a CT surgeon; UiTM has 3 professors, all CT surgeons.

A neurosurgeon with FRCS Ireland has filed a judicial review application after MMC rejected his application to be registered as a specialist on NSR due to non-recognition of his qualification. Dr Lu Yeow Yuen, practising in HK, wants to return to Malaysia.

Two Health DGs At The Heart Of Parallel Pathway War

Then-DG Hisham said in 2022 the RCSEd cardiothoracic surgery parallel pathway was co-organised by MOH. "It's quality assured to international standards by RCSEd". He said in 2014 the parallel pathway would halve the time to produce cardiothoracic surgeons.
