Court Cannot Interfere With Drug Price Display Consumer Policy: AGC

The AGC says the court lacks the authority to interfere with the drug price display policy as the government has the "exclusive right" to decide what kind of consumer policy should be implemented, unless the policy is unconstitutional or violates a law.

High Court Grants Temporary Stay Of Drug Price Display Order

The High Court has granted a temporary stay, until a Feb 4 stay application hearing, of a mandate for private clinics to display medicine prices by Jan 1, 2026. MOH and KPDN are opposing the stay application by doctors' groups in the judicial review.

MOH invites doctors and pharmacists to submit drug price data in a pilot project on development of MOH's new medicine “price catcher” app, named MyPriMeCatcher. Participants are eligible for CPD points. KPDN’s existing PriceCatcher app lists retail goods.

Seven medical/ dental groups, plus a GP, have filed a legal challenge against the "illegal" drug price display order. Applicants say the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act cannot apply to doctors or dentists providing treatment under the Poisons Act.
