A Japan-based scientist says his analysis of wastewater samples from Bangkok, Thailand, collected 3-4 weeks ago were positive for the highly mutated Covid variant BA.2.86. In the last 30 days, Malaysia only shared 7 sequences of SARS-CoV-2 with GISAID.
