Sihat Fest 2025: Nurturing Healthier Communities

SKSMC’s Sihat Fest 2025 brought Klang families and individuals together for a vibrant morning of health-focused engagement, fun, and community spirit.

KLANG, June 17 — Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre (SKSMC) hosted Sihat Fest 2025 on June 15, 2025, at Taman Rakyat, Taman Sri Andalas, drawing over 500 Klang residents in a celebration of holistic health, wellness, and community empowerment.

Held in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya DiRaja Klang (MBDK), the annual health festival aimed to raise awareness of physical, mental, and environmental well-being through a wide array of complimentary health services, educational booths, and family-friendly activities.

This initiative reflects SKSMC’s ongoing commitment to serving the Klang community in general.

The festival was officiated by Azmi Muji, Director of the Department of Health, MBDK, on behalf of the Deputy Mayor of Klang, Zary Affendi Mohd Arif, who commended the initiative: “I wish to congratulate and applaud SKSMC for the dedication and commitment shown in organising Sihat Fest. This meaningful initiative seeks to cultivate a culture of embracing a holistic approach to well-being, encouraging the community in Klang to pursue a healthy and prosperous lifestyle.

“It is a noble effort that raises awareness about the importance of taking care of our health, which is both a shared right and a collective responsibility,” he added.

“At SKSMC, our mission through Sihat Fest extends beyond treating illness, we are committed to promoting holistic wellness that nurtures physical, mental, and emotional health. We believe that when communities come together–informed, empowered, and connected–we can build a stronger, healthier Klang,” said Tan Suet Guan, Hospital Director of SKSMC.

Sihat Fest 2025 brought Klang families and individuals together for a vibrant morning of health-focused engagement, fun, and community spirit. Activities included Zumba sessions, balloon sculpting, sand art, and inflatable playground, creating an inclusive environment for all age groups.

Complementing the festivities was a comprehensive suite of free health screenings, including checks for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body composition analysis, and mobile ECG services.

Attendees also had access to on-site Pap smear tests and free mammogram referrals, further supporting preventive care.

Visitors also benefited from free consultations by Dr Toh Seng Hsiung, SKSMC’ consultant cardiologist, as well as hands-on CPR demonstration by the hospital’s emergency care team, equipping participants with essential life-saving skills.

Furthermore, the festival featured exhibitions by various organisations addressing health and safety topics, including a cancer awareness and prevention exhibition, a dengue awareness campaign by MBDK, and “Kempen Pencegahan Jenayah” by IPD Klang Selatan, aimed at promoting crime prevention and public security.

In conjunction with Father’s Day, the event also celebrated the spirit of fatherhood by distributing complimentary apples to the first 100 fathers in attendance–a simple yet meaningful gesture symbolising the importance of nurturing strong, healthy families as the foundation of a thriving community.

Sihat Fest reaffirms the commitment of SKSMC and MBDK to empower the community with essential health knowledge and resources, contributing to a healthier, safer, and more environmentally aware Klang Royal City.
