KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 9 – The Selangor state government is offering free Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines as booster shots to all residents aged 18 and above who last received their vaccine dose six months ago.
Eligible individuals in Selangor can receive their free Covid-19 booster jab at 15 Selcare clinics or any THE KL Clinic, beginning January 7.
“The Covid-19 vaccines will be made available (as primer doses) to children and adults. Meanwhile, booster doses will be administered to individuals aged 18 and above, provided six months have passed since their last dose,” said Selangor State Public Health Standing Committee chairperson Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud in a statement last Friday.
Although registrations can be done on a ‘walk-in’ basis, residents in Selangor intending to take the free Covid-19 vaccine are encouraged to make an appointment by calling the Selcare hotline at 1-800-22-6600.
Selcare clinics operate from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm. The public can visit the Selcare website for further information.
According to KKMNow data, more than 101 per cent of Selangor’s 7 million total population have completed their primary Covid vaccination series, while about 70 per cent have taken their first booster dose. Only 4.3 per cent have taken their second booster dose.
