Ensure Fast Lanes And Conveniences For Older Persons, Expectant Mothers, And People With Disabilities At Polling Centres – MMA

A higher voter turnout and a longer waiting time spent in the queue can be expected at polling centres nationwide.

With 18-year-olds now eligible to vote, a higher voter turnout and a longer waiting time spent in the queue can be expected at polling centres nationwide.

Hence, the MMA urges the Election Commission to ensure a fast lane and conveniences for older persons, expectant mothers and the disabled. Expectant mothers and older persons can develop back pain issues from standing for long durations.

We once again remind all Malaysians to stay protected against Covid-19 by wearing a face mask throughout the process.

It would also be advisable to have a good breakfast or a light meal before heading to the polling centre as we aren’t sure how long the whole process will take.

Be prepared for both hot weather and rain by bringing along a hat, umbrella, or raincoat. You may also want to bring along a water bottle in case you get thirsty.

For diabetics, if the wait is too long, it will be important to prevent hypoglycemia so keep a sweet or biscuit handy.
