Paediatricians Have Always Been Allowed To Administer Kids’ Covid-19 Vaccine

ProtectHealth says paediatricians can join PICKids as a participating specialist clinic or through PPV private hospitals.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 – ProtectHealth Corporation highlighted today that paediatricians have always been allowed to administer Covid-19 vaccines, since the beginning of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

On March 8 last year, general practitioners (GPs) were invited to participate in PICK, followed by private hospitals on March 30.

On April 30, 2021, the Ministry of Health (MOH) agreed to allow specialist clinics and ambulatory care centres to be involved in PICK.

Pursuant to the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids), ProtectHealth issued a press release to encourage private paediatricians and private specialist clinics to participate in the programme.

ProtectHealth also said paediatricians can vaccinate at any PPV and they can join as a participating specialist clinic. If paediatricians are providing services in private hospitals, they can participate through PPV private hospitals.

“To date, over 900 GPs, 48 private hospitals and four paediatric specialist clinics are on board for the PICKids programme.  We urge more paediatricians to join in this national agenda to protect our families. Please visit our website for registration to provide the vaccination service.

“Children cases with Covid-19 have been increasing rapidly including severe conditions and fatalities. We are also worried about the Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-C) in children. As such, we appeal to parents to ensure your children are protected against the Covid-19 virus. Please protect our children, our family, and by doing this we will protect everyone,” said ProtectHealth chief executive officer Anas Alam Faizli.
