IHH Appointed For Covid-19 Vaccination At Mega Site

IHH Healthcare Malaysia has been appointed to administer Covid-19 vaccines at Setia City Convention Centre from June 7.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — ProtectHealth has appointed IHH Healthcare Malaysia as a health care organiser to provide vaccinations to the public at Setia City Convention Centre,  commencing June 7, 2021.

The mega vaccination centre, set up by the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force, aims to  vaccinate more people per day without the risk of overcrowding.

IHH Healthcare Malaysia will be providing the manpower and clinical resources including  personal protective equipment and medical equipment to assess, vaccinate and monitor  individuals as well as manage emergencies.

“The workforce from across our network in Malaysia — Pantai Hospitals, Gleneagles Hospitals, Prince Court Medical Centre and education arm International Medical University — will be joining hands to help out at the mega vaccination centre from its commencement until immunity in the community is achieved as targeted,” said Jean-François Naa, CEO of IHH Healthcare Malaysia.

“My full appreciation goes to them for their commitment and tireless contribution in providing  care at the hospital, operating vaccination centres at their own hospital and now going the extra  mile to further expedite the public vaccination programme in the county,” he added.

IHH Healthcare Malaysia has been contributing to the fight against Covid-19 since the start of  the pandemic. Recently, its network of hospitals more than doubled its total allocation of ICU  beds to treat Covid-19 patients and increased its total allocation of beds to 251 beds.

In addition, early last year, IHH Healthcare Malaysia had allocated 200 beds to treat non-Covid-19 patients decanted from public hospitals.

Its laboratory arm, Pantai Premier Pathology, has also been supporting the nation by continuously increasing its Covid-19 testing capacity.
