KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — The Ministry of Health (MOH) recorded six new Covid-19 cases today, including two local transmissions, bringing the total number of active cases to 153.

Of the two new local transmission cases, one belongs to the MV Glen cluster that was detected on August 30 aboard a ship that berthed in Port Klang, Selangor. The index patient (Patient 9,286) of this cluster is a 42-year-old foreign ship crew who tested positive for the coronavirus on August 25.

An unlinked local transmission was detected in Pahang during a screening at the workplace. The Malaysian asymptomatic Covid-19 patient has been admitted to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.

According to MOH, sign-on and sign-off screening in a ship is important as it is one of the measures to monitor national border control to prevent Covid-19 infection carried by foreign nationals into the country.
