MOH Records Six New Covid-19 Cases, All Malaysians

No new cases were reported from any of the Covid-19 clusters throughout Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced six new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 8,674.

The new Covid-19 cases consisted of four imported infections and two local transmissions. All of the cases involved Malaysians.

Two returnees from Russia, one from Indonesia, and one from Singapore detected positive for the coronavirus, whereas two Malaysians — one in Kuala Lumpur and the other in Selangor — tested positive for Covid-19 during screening for work.

The MOH did not record any new cases too from all the Covid-19 clusters throughout the country.

Five Covid-19 patients were discharged today. That brings the total number of active Covid-19 patients to 72. Of them, two patients are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, whereas two are placed under ventilator support.

So far, 8,481 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in the country.

The MOH did not record any new deaths related to Covid-19 and the death toll from coronavirus in Malaysia remains at 121.
