KL Lawyers Who Attended AGM Getting Covid-19 Test

A lawyer at the KL Bar AGM had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 — Some 250 lawyers who attended the Kuala Lumpur Bar annual general meeting (AGM) last February 27 will be tested for Covid-19 tomorrow, after an attendee contracted the viral infection.

KL Bar Committee chairwoman Harleen Kaur announced that the committee was cooperating with the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Kuala Lumpur by giving the CPRC a list of the lawyers who attended the AGM at Wisma MCA here.

“Members who attended the said Annual General Meeting, please expect to be contacted by CPRC accordingly,” she wrote.

A KL Bar member confirmed with CodeBlue that he received a call about the test tomorrow at the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya Health Department.

MOH today reported 28 new Covid-19 cases, resulting in a total cumulative of 83 cases in Malaysia. Eighteen people in the newest cluster linked to Patient 26 tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
