KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith was sent to Parliament’s medical facility after he collapsed in the Dewan Rakyat today.
The Malay Mail reported that Eddin, who is Kuala Pilah MP, was believed to have suffered a heart attack, according to Kapar MP Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid.
Pontian MP Ahmad Maslan told the press that Eddin suffered from shortness of breath.
“Priority must be given to the health and well being of MPs as yet another incident of a MP falling ill in Parliament has happened,” Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran tweeted.
Tanjung Piai MP Dr Md Farik Md Rafik died last September from a heart attack at the age of 43, sparking a by-election in the Johor parliament seat set for polling this Saturday.

Eddin’s office said in a statement that he has been taken to the National Heart Institute for further treatment.
“YB Tuan Haji Eddin Syazlee Shith is now in stable condition and requests for everyone’s cooperation to pray for his immediate recovery.”
