Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Celebrates Breast Cancer ‘Thrivers’

The lingerie brand will be donating to Rihanna’s foundation for each pink style sold.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 – Rihanna’s lingerie brand Savage X Fenty is raising money for her foundation to fund research and support young women living with aggressive breast cancer.

“This October, Savage X Fenty and I are highlighting 4 of the strongest, most badass and inspiring women we like to call our #SAVAGEXTHRIVERS in support of breast cancer awareness month!” Rihanna tweeted today.

The campaign in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which will donate a minimum of US$3.75 for each pink style sold to Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF), spotlights four women’s empowering journeys not only as survivors, but as “thrivers”.

CLF is a foundation founded by Rihanna that supports education and emergency response programmes around the world.

In a video highlighting the women who have and are fighting cancer, these women sit and talk on how their lives have changed since their diagnoses, as well as assure other women that they are not fighting alone.

“Sharing the evolution of your journey and your experiences makes other people feel less alone, less of an anomaly. It also raises awareness that if something feels wrong, you should get it checked out,” said Stephanie, one of the women featured.

“I was diagnosed at 24 years old, did not think it could happen at that age. So, I decided to be really open about my story and started blogging my entire journey and it created this massive community of women who can relate to each other and it helped me as much as it helped them,” explained Nalie.

“I just got over it. This is me, [this is my body] and I’ve just started to embrace it—like, this is what it is.” Johanna said.
