KUALA LUMPUR, August 22 — The Avisena Women’s and Children’s Specialist Hospital in Shah Alam was officially opened today by Selangor Ruler, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
With 133 beds and 52 specialists on call, it is now touted as the largest private women’s and children’s specialist hospital in Malaysia.
“It will provide services such as obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics in almost all specialisations such as infertility, maternal-foetal medicine, urogynaecology, neonatology, paediatric cardiology, paediatric surgery, paediatric orthopaedic, paediatric oral health and child development,” said Avisena Group president and CEO Datuk Dr Omar Abd Hamid.
A four star hotel will be opened next to the hospital in four years and Avisena Grop is confident it will help to turn Shah Alam into a quality health services hub in Selangor and Malaysia.
Another hospital operated by Avisena Group, Avisena Specialist Hospital, offers specialisations such as cardiology, heart surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, endocrinology, nephrology, and orthopaedic surgery.
Moving forward, Avisena Group also has long-term plans to build more hospitals in the Klang Valley and other states.
