Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara Fires Psychiatrist For Sexual Harassment

The case has been referred to the police and the MMC.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 — Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara has terminated a consultant psychiatrist for sexually harassing a patient.

The Petaling Jaya private hospital said in a statement that he was sacked on July 15 after an internal inquiry investigated a patient’s allegations of sexual harassment against the sessional consultant psychiatrist, who was suspended on July 6.

“We would like to emphasise the complaint was taken seriously and immediate action taken according to due process to safeguard the safety and confidentiality of our patients, doctors and employees,” Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara said.

“The Hospital has referred this matter to the Royal Malaysian Police and the Malaysian Medical Council for further action and as such will make no further comments on the matter.”

World of Buzz reported yesterday screenshots of messages between the psychiatrist and his patient on WhatsApp that allegedly showed the former talking about sex. The psychiatrist also allegedly sent his patient images of his penis and asked her for pictures of her vagina.
